If you're having trouble with your internet at home, here's something to try.

Issues may include these:

  • Unable to connect to VPN
  • Unable to access the Internet or a web page

Steps of the maneuver:

  1. Unplug your modem's power cable*
  2. Wait at least 1 minute before plugging the cable back in.
  3. After plugging in the cable in the modem, you will have to wait 1 to 2 minutes before the internet comes back
  4. Then reboot your computer
  5. Retry accessing either the VPN, web page or other that was not working

*Here are examples of modems

Restarting the internet modem by unplugging it for a minute often updates it and thus resolves several problems we may encounter. This maneuver can also be used for your other devices at home, such as cellphones, smart TVs, etc.
